Panic Land is a four piece pop-punk band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, The band consists of Braedon Horbacio – Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Jason Cumming – Lead Guitar, Ian Wilmer – Bass Guitar, Jordan Holden – Drums. The band members are all 16 except for Jordan who’s 15. They first got together in 2007 through a music program at Marschells Music.
They emerge from the deadening environment of the suburbs, which has produced so many great North American punk bands. Sick of the boring environment and day job's as exciting as "sign holder" - a job title two members of the band actually held for a local pizza restaurant (their job was just standing outside the pizza joint holding a sign) its not hard to get a dismissive attitude towards society, and it's no wonder their music is so full of unrest and invective.
The unusually young display of songwriting chops, (they write some as a band, but the majority of music and lyrics is written by Braedon Horbacio) lyrical conciseness, and group chemistry attracted the attention of some Winnipeg industry folk in 2010, including Glen Willows of BCM Management (Inward Eye, Ash Koley, Sons of York) who was impressed by the raw, yet accomplished sounds pumping out of these four kids not even old enough to drive.
The future holds a lot of challenges, including 100's of shows, more (and more) songwriting, and inevitably life experiences of the kind you can only find in the seminal teenage years. But based on what they've done already, Panic Land has the beginnings of a serious musical and lyrical voice, and inevitably a killer live show.
